MonTransit Review
MonTransit provides users with information regarding STM buses & subways along with Bixi bikes right from your handset itself.
This open source app is designed as an ad-free app thereby providing users with minimal interruptions while using this app. The ads can be hidden in the app settings. Users will have to pay $3 for purchasing ‘MonTransit - Donate’ app. However users can also hide the apps for free by means of downloading the app source code followed by changing one value. The app also supports SD card installation but some of the users have reported of it crashing in some devices.
The app is capable of anonymously tracking and reporting the activity of user. Users can also get the monthly analytics reports directly from the website. Internet permissions are required for uploading the data from stm.info & twitter.com. Users will also have to enable the Locations feature in their device for calculating the distances between user & sub-way station or a bus stop. Network state permissions are also required for using Google Analytics and Google AdMob. Services like PayPal require the app to have access to the Phone State and Identity. NFC is also required by this app for beam functionality.
Users can have the free and paid version downloaded on to their device from Google Play Store. This transportation app requires 1.5 and later versions to perform well. The latest version of the app is version 1.7.4.1 that came with fixes for unexpected crashing of the app. The bus tab and bus line features have also got updated with the latest app version.
